Nanjing Reading Festival
Nanjing Reading Festival, the oldest of its kind in China, began in 1995 and has occurred on successive years since then. The festival has encouraged citizens to "Enjoy Reading Together" for more than two decades now and during its annual slot, dozens of readings, lectures, and interactive events for participants of all ages and backgrounds are offered daily.
In 2016, the 21st Nanjing Reading Festival launched to great acclaim with citizens enjoying such activities as the “Scholarly Family”, “Scholarly Campus”, “Scholarly Organization”, “Scholarly Enterprise”, “Scholarly Village”, “Scholarly Community” and “Scholarly Military Camp (Police Camp)” being held across the city. More than 400 reading activities took place throughout Nanjing.
