"Nanjing: A City of Literature" Featured Events at 2017 Hong Kong Book Fair

The 28th Hong Kong Book Fair in July 2017 provided an excellent opportunity for Nanjing, the first Chinese city to apply for UNESCO's "Creative Cities Network: City of Literature" title. The featured event-"Nanjing: A City of Literature" was held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Important attenders included Pan Guping, the vice-director of the Nanjing Municipal Publicity Department; Zhang Wenfeng, chief representative of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Jiangsu; Rosabel O'Connor, Deputy Consul-General of the lrish Consulate General in Hong Kong; Allan Mabanco, the keynote speaker who gave the speech "World Window Lecture Series"; a professor of French literature from UCLA; and other cultural icons from mainland China and Hong Kong.
As a part of this event, the Nanjing Design Gallery organized a literature-themed exhibition displaying items such as the Dream of the Red Chamber, the imperial examination, Buddhism in Nanjing, Nanjing Art, Kun Opera and the "City Series". This exhibition displayed more than 260 products and relevant books from 23 Nanjing cultural creation enterprises.
